It has been such a joy to translate my friends’ personalities, tastes, and experiences into living space they love. While Olivia’s room featured blush and gold accents, Colesy wanted a cooler, blue and silver color palette for her dorm room in Cornell’s new Alpha Chi Omega house. It was fun to create two different schemes from the The Mine’s selection of furniture and decor, and curate the artwork for each room with Minted. The whole space is washed in blue, and I know it will be both a relaxing retreat and fun entertaining space that Colesy will be excited to come home to!
Colesy already had a beautiful set of Roberta Roller Rabbit bedding that she brought with her, so we used the pattern as a jumping off point for the rest of the design.
The chic campaign nightstand makes the perfect bedside companion with its ample storage and silver accents. Colesy is also well-traveled, so I love that it nods to that aspect of the campaign style as well! Below, the glam Brentwood frame from Framebridge carries the silver accent and makes the serene Jennifer Squires Ross photography print shine above the bed. Shop all of the artwork in the room below:
This shot really shows how the stunning Cascade Heights Barrow blue area rug from Mowhawk Home pops in the room. It’s soft underfoot and really ties the whole space together. These cute ottomans from The Mine actually nest within each other, so it’s perfect for pulling out extra seating when friends come over!
The desk is often a multi-functioning piece in a dorm room since it often doubles as a vanity. We used the mirror here for that very reason, making the perfect pair with the classic silver pharmacy-style task lamp. Some faux succulents from The Mine freshen up the desk top!
Now for a playful addition to the color palette – pink peach-patterned curtains from Minted!
We styled up the two dressers for Colesy and her roommate with more artwork and decorative accents, and let the fun curtains make a statement on this side of the room. They cover the closet, which was previously left open. Now that it’s covered the room really feels finished off!
