I’ve always wanted to be part of the Fab Five, and I’m so thrilled to share a Queer Eye-inspired makeover for my best friend Emma with the new Queer Eye furniture collection that launched this week, exclusively at Walmart! The collection is full of affordable, contemporary pieces that make a subtle statement and can mix into any space or style. Emma’s sunroom was the perfect place to bring in a lighter touch and new, comfortable seating.
The modern furniture mixed in perfectly with some of their older pieces, like the coffee table made of hand-painted Italian tiles Emma’s great-grandmother brought back from a trip. This room hadn’t been changed in 13 years, so I was so thrilled to give it a true Queer Eye makeover to create a fresh space for Emma and her dad to hang out in! Check out my YouTube video for a behind-the-scenes look at the whole room makeover below.

I anchored the seating area with a sleek grey Fabry sofa that a pair of cream Brayden armchairs with a modern metal frame. I styled the area with pops of brass in the lighting and yellow striped pillows to bring out the yellow in the tiled coffee table and contemporary oriental-style rug. I love how the light armchairs reflect the sunlight that streams in through the skylights!
Opposite the seating area, I used the Durham dining table with a beautiful oak x-base and glass top for a casual dining area or card table. I added velvet dining chairs in a dark green that matches the gorgeous views of the trees outside all the windows, and I love how it looks with the brass brackets on the table base.
Bringing in more contemporary pieces to this sunroom helped freshen it up, and we were still able to keep a lot of the more traditional accent pieces like the wooden side tables in the space. It all mixes together perfectly with the clean lines of the Queer Eye furniture collection and adds both style and functionality to this room.
