Now that Grace is at college, her bedroom in Dove Hill Project has become the guest bedroom and I recently had the opportunity to give the room a beautiful refresh with Serena & Lily’s best-in-class bedding, plus a fun mirror and fluffy towels to make the room guest-ready for the holidays. As you might remember from my organization tips in Grace’s room, the space is super serene, with a minimal color palette and a classic neutral headboard. I decided to bring a little color to the bedding, which included soft sheets, a classic duvet, and cozy quilt. With pale blue as the new accent color, I coordinated a set of bath essentials and a rattan mirror for the wall. See all the details of the new bedroom decor below!

I started the bedding set with the Solana sheet set, which come in a beautiful light blue and have the prettiest fringed edges. I love the textural element they bring to the bed! I paired them with the classic Southport duvet cover and shams, with crisp navy embroidery. To top it off, I added the Foxwood quilt in Sand to tie in the warm neutrals in the room.
I’m a big fan of the euro pillow, and think it’s great for comfort when sitting up, and also, visually, a nice height at the top of the bed. I stacked four standard pillows with a pair of euros and placed the Blakely plaid lumbar pillow in front for a bit of fall coziness. Don’t be afraid to mix pure white and ivory – just make sure to tie the color in with the quilt or headboard.
Above the bed, I hung the Topeka mirror with it’s fun rattan frame. The shape of the mirror added a lot of interest to the wall, and brought in a warm tan that gave a bit more contrast than the white picture frames it replaced. It reflects light from the opposite window and makes a great focal point for the room!
In the bathroom, I pulled the light blue from the sheet set to inspire a set of soft Sonoma bath sheets and Napa hand towels and washcloths. While the bath sheets have a simple borderless design for extra comfort, the hand towels and wash cloths have a classic border that makes them perfect for hanging beside the sink. Finally, the Spinsoft Guerneville bath mat brings the beautiful sky blue to the floor in the guest bathroom.
I am in love with the quality and details of our new guest bed and bathroom decor and feel extra prepared to take on any houseguests this holiday season! Check out these inspiring bedrooms to spark your next redecorating effort.
