When Chairish invited me to create a bold design board around one of their statement chairs, I couldn’t say no! All-white rooms are certainly serene, but designing with patterns and color is where the fun begins. I started with these black and white striped fauteuil armchairs, then immediately thought of the playful element of this fantastical wall mural. From there, I pulled out blue and green to create a jewel-toned setting, mixed in a smaller scale stripe in the rug and an unexpectedly simple pebble coffee table, then added some glam with this incredible floor lamp and another Chairish find – Brunchschwig & Fils throw pillows. The chandelier is busy, but quietly so in ivory. The result is a room that feels layered and eclectic, with a sense of playfulness and an inviting energy that is communicated through the palette. I have to admit, this is one of my favorite design boards I’ve ever created. Now if only I could bring it to life!
