On pastoral, meadow acreage in the countryside of Alabama, architect Paul Bates and designer Melanie Pounds conceived of a contemporary farmhouse designed for easy open-door living and entertaining. The light-filled house makes use of materiality to bring the neutral color scheme to life, and careful architectural details add character to the new-build design.
