I’ve always been enamored with architecture – in fact it was one of my first dream jobs! Once I found out how much math and science was involved I quickly moved on, but every interior designer has to have an innate appreciation for good space, and architecture dictates the very character of a room before a decorator can work their magic. Often times great architecture can only be referenced in a room (because it’s often hard to find, especially in your typical apartment building), so I love the addition of an architecture art print to bring structure and character to a space. The mere reference of built space within a room can be transformative, and I turned to Minted’s new wall art to find two perfect prints for my new apartment’s dining area and bar cart.
This fabulous 30×40 architecture print named ‘Do Not Stop the Clock’ is by a photographer based in Rome, Italy. While the building is sleek white marble, it’s modernity is contrasted by the statues seen in the lower left and right hand archways of the building. I always love a mix of old and new, and this print nailed both the subject and color palette for our dining area.
My second print is named ‘Havana’ and was actually photographed in Miami Beach. The modern doorway and hint of a palm tree create a stark contrast against the white building, which brings another bright architectural element to this vignette on the opposite side of our living area. The bar cart is on our wallpapered wall (more details to come on that), so the tropical theme makes a perfect match for the new artwork.
I absolutely love what these prints bring to the room. You can find all of Minted’s new limited edition wall art here – there are so many new original pieces to peruse!
