COLESY’S BLUE MOOD DORM: DESIGN BOARD

I’m so happy to share one of two dorm rooms I’m putting together for friends.
Colesy’s room is pulled together by shades of blue. Where I avoided prints and kept the shapes and textiles soft in Olivia’s lush blush room, Colesy has more geometric lines and a few prints mixed in to liven things up. Some choice selections from Minted’s great art and the seating cubes, rug, and cozy blanket balance these with softer, plusher details and hazy imagery. The stripes on the bedding pillow and the blue and white motif add a subtle nautical touch perfectly suited to a traveler. A campaign-style nightstand completes the cosmopolitan flair. While in Olivia’s room I started with a simpler off-white area rug, I chose a bolder patterned rug from Mowhawk Home to set the scene in Colesy’s room. From there, I pulled together a selection of art to bring some additional hues to the color palette from Minted then filled out the look with furniture and decor from The Mine.
