I instantly fell in love with Meredith McBrearty’s midcentury cottage, which she lovingly renovated with a fresh, layered approach that combines the best of modern and Southern design while incorporating a spirited color palette. The living room above is one of my favorite spaces, with an iconic Vertigo pendant light as the centerpiece to the room. I’m always a fan of blue velvet which pops on the modern armchairs, and the relaxed linen sofa and leopard rug were nods to a more traditional vernacular, while the rooms’ layers tread the perfect balance between contemporary and maximalist in the cozy space. Check out how I translated the room’s design below with a shoppable design board to bring the look home!
