Bright metallics light up the living room in this suave Madrid apartment, full of lots of velvet upholstery and sculptural, modern furniture that create this clean-cut mix. While the decor ventures into a saturated color palette with complementary pairings like the blue and yellow above, the apartment’s spacious floor plan and airy architecture lets these bold color choices breathe easy. I love the versatility of the modular sofa in this half of the living room. See the other half of the space and the stunning dining room after the jump!
Sometimes all an entry needs is a sculptural table and a bouquet of flowering branches. These yellow blooms were cut from a Mimosa tree (how great is that name?)!
The second half of the living room features a cozier reading area with a wall of books and a lot more color. The pink velvet from that fun little ottoman carries right over into the dining room where velvet and brass make a splash again, surrounding a simple white pedestal dining table. I Also love the texture of the antiqued mirror panels on the wall.
The simple kitchen is warmed up with sleek wooden cabinetry and the bright brass pendants above the island. Of course, you can find a bit of velvet in this room too – covering the cushions in the Bertoia counter stools!

I especially love the big blue seating element!
Me too, and it looks so versatile!
