Right before I came up to school in August I shot an exciting before and after project with Home Depot that I had been working on all summer – and I’m thrilled to share the reveal today! I used pieces from their Home Decorators Collection to reimagine the dining room in my mom’s house, updating the look from oversized heirloom pieces to a mix of traditional furniture, contemporary accents, and a more comfortable aesthetic to create an inviting mixed-use space that flows well with the living room (which was just updated last fall). When I first approached the dining room’s new design, I knew I wanted to include banquette seating, which would not only make a more intimate dining nook but also open up the room to make space for a seating area under the window for after-dinner sitting or a coffee and a newspaper in the mornings. Make sure to see the complete makeover (with before photos) on Home Depot’s blog!
