The last room left to be designed in Meghan’s midtown apartment is the media/guest room. Currently, it hold a navy velvet sleeper sectional, white dresser, and light blue Lucca maze area rug. As you might remember from her bedroom makeover, the walls in her apartment are a terrible beige color, so the first to-do will be painting the room. With a more cohesive color palette and a few simple additions from AllModern, I’m hoping the room will feel inviting but simplified – a cozy interpretation of minimalism!
[ezcol_1half][/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]With a blue sectional and rug, I want to bring in a dark green for the walls to really play up the cozy factor in this space. Since it’s where Meghan settles in to watch TV at the end of the day, I want it to feel like a cocoon at night. After comparing a few paint samples, we settled on Behr’s Dark Everglade color. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the paint color I used in Murphy’s bedroom design![/ezcol_1half_end]
With a small space like this, I thought a glass coffee table would be a good way to open up the center of the room. I want to keep the color palette as simple as possible, so neutral throw pillows and marble table lamps offer subtle accents for the space. Accent lighting will be key, and placing these lamps on either end of the existing white dresser that sits below the TV will help provide warm ambient light throughout the room.
