For this year’s My Home Style Christmas tree blog hop (see my college apartment tree from last year here), I decided to bring the holiday cheer to my cousin Meghan’s apartment in Midtown with a jewel-toned theme full of boho style from SmithHönig. So far I’ve only shared the accent walls in Meghan’s living room and bedroom with Clare paint, so you’ll see that we’ve made lots of progress since then with the decorating and I’m so excited to share this new look inside the apartment! If you’re here from Delineate Your Dwelling on the blog hop, welcome – I am a 22-year-old design blogger based in Atlanta with a line of maze-inspired area rugs under my brand Kevin Francis Design (you can see the Lucca rug in this room)! Keep reading for all the details of this holiday look.
P.S. SmithHönig is offering 40% off storewide (excluding one-of-a-kind and wallpaper) plus free shipping this weekend!
When I was invited by SmithHönig to decorate for the holidays with their luxe bohemian home decor, I knew their fabulous tassels had to take center stage on the Christmas tree. The detail and colors are so beautiful on these and I just love them on the tree! I love how the colors coordinate with the other accents in the room, from the pink wall to the pillow on the sectional.
When bringing in a bunch of new colors to a room, it’s best to keep them in the same family – so jewel tones provided the perfect theme for adding a set of luxurious velvet pillows with fun, colorful piping. They look so great on the navy sectional!
On the side table, I added a little piece of art – a juju hat acrylic block, which ties some blue into the vignette and adds a fun reference to one of my favorite boho items to the space.
We found this 7.5 foot faux tree at The Home Depot, and I brought in some ornaments from Target to add more jewel-inspired colors to the tree with emerald green and sapphire blue, plus classic gold pinecones for warmth. We wrapped Meghan’s navy faux-fur blanket around the base for a tree-skirt and topped it off with a light-up star. I love how the tree looks reflected in the brass mirrors on the wall!
It was so much fun adding cheer to Meghan’s apartment with SmithHönig and I hope you liked these boho jewel-toned decor ideas! Follow along on Instagram for an upcoming Insta-takeover with the brand, and for more updates to Meghan’s apartment design.
