This week’s progress in my new apartment study included finishing the walls with new paint and the amazing Cranes wallpaper from Milton & King (see the room before). I also opened up the first few packages from The Home Depot with the first pieces of furniture and decor for the room! Before I move anything in, I want to lay down the new rug from Mohawk Rugs, so I’m waiting on that package to arrive so I can start installing furniture. I have yet to decide on the artwork I’m hanging in this room, but I have a gilt Federal-style bullseye mirror my grandfather made that I’m hanging on the wallpapered wall – get a glimpse of it below!

I’m absolutely in love with this shade of brown (Dark Truffle by Behr). Its undertones aren’t too warm, and it’s dark enough to be moody but not get pitch black in the corners of the room. The paint was still drying in the photo above, but you can see the subtle sheen of the Eggshell finish better in the photos below.

With such a beautiful wallpaper I don’t want to cover much of the pattern, but I think it still needs something in the center to create a focal point for this statement wall. I have this amazing mirror my grandfather made that hung above my bed on Cochise Drive that I think will be perfect – you can see it peeking into this shot of my old bedroom:
This week I’m going to hang the mirror, lay down the area rug, and then start unpacking and assembling the furniture for the space.

Loving this peek into what the room is going to look like. That wall color is perfect with the wallpaper. And the mirror is going to be the perfect focal point!
