Spray paint is one of the best tricks you can use for repurposing old items or creating a cohesive collection from things that are mismatched. My last project with Plasti Dip Craft transformed vintage flatware and glasses into a matching blue picnic set with its convenient rubberized coating, and this time I’m creating an indoor herb garden with an assortment of pots. This application is a great example of how the rubber coating is helpful for things you don’t want to scratch or skid, and I’ll always love the fact that you can peel the coating off if you want to change up the design. See how easy it is to put together this cute countertop herb garden with some painters tape and Plasti Dip paint, which you can purchase on Amazon! “PLANTING AN INDOOR COUNTERTOP HERB GARDEN WITH PLASTI DIP CRAFT”
For a Mediterranean-style home in the middle of Buckhead (one that’s always caught my eye), architect Norman Askins and designer Susan Bozeman brought a French touch to the new interiors, adding to the European style of the stucco house. The 1930’s home features arched windows above French doors, black shutters, and romantic Juliet balconies on the exterior, and the high-contrast look was brought to the entryway with all-black walls and a tortoiseshell ceiling. From the nailhead-studded pantry doors in the kitchen above to the brass fittings in the classic owner’s bath, this house is full of luxurious details with classic nods to European style. The latest update from the West Midtown living room includes a major decor game-changer. Curtains have always been one of my favorite ways to change a space, from hiding bad architecture to softening large rooms, and this room was definitely in need of the latter. With a two-story window in the front, the open-floorplan living room continues to the kitchen and dining room behind. It’s hard to make such a tall and open space feel cozy, but the curtains were an investment that definitely paid off! They make this space feel SO luxe and inviting, and I was able to get them made very reasonably by this amazing Etsy shop Best Custom Curtains. The amazing exterior design for HGTV’s Dream Home 2021 featured beautiful materials outfitted by Belgard, in varying shades of grey inspired by the Newport mansions in the area. The use of slate-style slabs and grey wall blocks defined the outdoor “rooms” in the backyard, creating spaces for cooking, dining, and lounging. The design included a cozy firepit, perfect for chilly Northeastern nights! I am excited to launch a new product category on Kevin Francis Design with my first piece of accent furniture. This matte white elephant side table is a fresh take on a figurine stool table and features a plaster-style painted finish that makes this piece perfect for any room. Whether you stack a tray, coffee table books, or simply a coaster for drinks this table can go anywhere and makes a sculptural statement. “NEW FROM KEVIN FRANCIS DESIGN: THE WHITE ELEPHANT SIDE TABLE”
