In a stately Houston mansion, Bruce Budd was hired to update the interiors and breathe new life into the home. Budd did a beautiful job refreshing each room, using a classic Americana palette with an easy-going foundation of sisal rugs, baskets, and stripes. Budd contrasts traditional silhouettes of the settees and armchairs with modern tables, white walls, and the owners’ incredible contemporary art collection. The result is bright, balanced, and timeless. Take a look inside my favorite rooms below!
The 18th century paneling in this formal living room surrounds pared-down furnishings. A dramatic Anish Kapoor sculpture between a pair of French doors creates the centerpiece for the space.
The handsome chrome canopy bed in the master bedroom is a custom design by Budd.
Stripes are used so well in this beautiful home! How do you like the updated-Americana style?
