GETTING BACK TO WORK WITH HP

I’m both sad and excited to say that it’s my last full week in Atlanta before I head up to college next week! I have been spending a lot of time catching up with friends and sleeping in a little too late… but now it’s time to get ready for another school year. I’m teaming up with HP to bring you a guide to organizing your physical and digital workspace in preparation for the end of summer and celebrating the launch of their new 15-inch laptop with 2TB of storage – plenty of room to organize all your files with ease. My whole desk will be migrating up to Ithaca next week, so I styled this workspace in my little sister’s room on her DIY desk with gold hairpin legs, using her headboard and the artwork above to inspire the desk’s color palette. The laptop also comes in red, teal, blue, and white, but I chose the sleek silver option for a modern look that would match any desk accessories we chose.

Grace’s headboard fabric inspired the aqua accessories on the desk, while the Jessica Brilli art print inspired some pops of red for a punchy complementary hue. The key to desk organization is having a place for everything to go – from loose papers to pens and pencils. We picked up a letter tray for keeping track of unfiled documents, a pencil cup for scissors and all writing utensils, and a tape dispenser and stapler for essential tools. Sticky notes were brought in for quick, daily notes, while a planner is perfect for scheduling and calendar management. Another helpful piece to have is a small catch-all, to round-up the little things that can clutter a desktop like keys, change, and paper clips.

My favorite feature of the new HP 15-inch laptop is definitely the 2TB hard drive. If there’s one thing that’s always slowing me down as a blogger, it’s my file management. I have thousands of photos that I file away, and I often don’t have space on my computer to save the original files after I’ve edited them. Although I occasionally pull out an external hard drive to try and free up some space, it’s so much easier to be able to store everything on one device. The laptop also features HD graphics, stereo speakers, touchpad with multi-touch support, and comes pre-loaded with Windows 10 (plus additional software). If you’re in the market for a new computer, make sure to shop this one on HSN, where it’s over 50% off!

I’ll be tackling a whole new workspace in my new dorm room (I’m sharing my design boards next week), but I’m feeling prepared to take on my desktop and digital organization this fall! What are your best tricks for staying organized at work and on your computer?
