Every year there are thousands of design events across the United States, but several large markets stand out as the industry leaders, bringing together the design community across the country to shop the latest from top furniture showrooms and home decor manufacturers. While I’ve had the chance to attend events at ADAC and markets at AmericasMart and High Point Market, I recently was introduced to a few more markets and got the chance to get to know them at the Design Influencers Conference in Atlanta last month. It’s amazing how much inspiration you can soak up, and the amazing organic networking that happens at market events, and I look forward to attending some of the shows below that I have never been to before. Find out all the key dates and details below!
For all of my local readers, ADAC is an incredible resource for Atlanta, and the Southeast as a whole. Each year, they host Trade Talks, Digital Day in February, seasonal product launch showcases, Southeast Designers & Architect of the Year Awards, and a Discover ADAC week in September full of engaging panels and presentations.
AmericasMart is another incredible design destination in Atlanta, hosting 16 annual markets and shows serving specialty retailers, designers and major buying groups from every U.S. state and more than 70 countries. With the world’s single-largest collection of wholesale home, gift, area rug and apparel merchandise, it serves an endless supply of inspiration year round. The Home & Gift shows are hosted every July and January.
Dallas’s recently renovated and expanded DMC includes a new Interior Home + Design Center (IHDC) completed under a 220,000-square-foot renovation. Look out for Dallas Design Week in April, the Total Home & Gift Market and Lightovation in June, and a second Home & Gift Market in September.
High Point Market is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, bringing more than 75,000 people to High Point, North Carolina, every six months. The market takes place all over the town, with showrooms large and small and lots of American furniture manufacturing taking place in the region. You can attend in April and October, but make sure to plan ahead as every hotel in town fills up fast!
Better known as ICFF, this contemporary market takes place in New York City and brings international furniture makers stateside to show off their newest collections. Each May 38,000 industry attendees explore the best in luxury design from 900 interional exhibitors.
A design mecca in the West, Las Vegas Market draws retailers and designers to the desert for four days of industry programming and thousands of square feet of showrooms from the top manufacturers. Visit LVM twice a year, in January and late July.
